Yamaha is all set to unwrap the all-new MT15 in India soon. The upcoming Yamaha bike will be a naked streetfighter concept based on the YZF R15 V3 model which was earlier revealed at the 2018 Auto Expo. The bike maker has recently introduced FZ V3 ABS and renewed version of Fazer 25 and FZ25 in the Indian market. You will be happy to know that some company’s dealerships have already started taking the bookings for the bike at a token amount between Rs 2,000 to Rs 10,000. This amount will be refunded if you cancel the bookings.
The upcoming Yamaha MT-15 has been spotted many times while on the test. The bike is outfitted with a bug-styled headlamp which is highlighted with gold anodized USD forks. The side bodywork gives it a husky appearance. It is equipped with a lifted pillion seat. The Indian version of MT-15 will be somewhat different from the global model, keeping in mind the overall pricing. The Indian variant will miss some exciting features including USD forks and some additional specs as well.
Although, the bike is expected to feature rear telescopic forks with Swing arm suspension and regular telescopic forks at the front. Both the variant will be introduced with front 282 mm disc up and a rear 220 mm unit. It is developed with striking lines running over the body which gives it a streetfighter look. It is outfitted with 100/80 R-17 front wheels and 140/70 R-17 rear wheels. It will also feature front and rear disc brake with dual-channel ABS.
Yamaha MT-15 will be powered by a 155cc single-cylinder motor which is same as powered in the R15. The motor will generate 18.7 bhp of power and 15 Nm of peak torque and combined with a 6-speed gearbox. It could also feature VVA (variable valve timing). The engine will claim an average mileage of 50 kmpl. The naked bike is expected to be launched at a price of nearly Rs 1.3 Lakhs. After the launch, it will rival against the popularity of KTM Duke 125, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and Bajaj Pulsar NS200 in Indian automotive market.
