Yamaha recently launched the third generation of the Yamaha FZ-FI and FZS-FI. In the same event, we also got to see the new dual-channel ABS-equipped versions of the Yamaha FZ25 and Fazer25. This move comes in light of the impending mandatory ABS rule on all motorcycles above 125cc.
Spec wise and feature wise the new Yamaha FZ25 and the Fazer25 remain similar to the older models. Also, the new R15 V3 with dual-channel on the hand gets an all-new matt black color scheme called the ‘dark knight’.
The ABS models now cost more due to the extra hardware. The Yamaha FZ25 now costs INR 1,33,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the Yamaha Fazer25 costs 1,43,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Yamaha R15 V3 with ABS now costs INR 1,39,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Also, the ‘dark knight’ color scheme for the R15 V3 costs an additional INR 2,000 bringing the total cost to INR 1,41,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Both the new FZ25 and Fazer25 run on the same 249cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It produces 20.9 hp @ 8000 rpm and 20 Nm of torque @ 6000 rpm. It is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
There are no other mechanical changes to both the motorcycles and remain the same as the older models except for the new ABS. The Fazer25, on the other hand, is available in two shades – dark matt blue and metallic black.
The Yamaha FZ25 and Fazer25 are two completely motorcycles even though they share the same heart. The FZ25 is built as a naked streetfighter. The Fazer25, on the other hand, is more of a sports tourer with its relaxed riding posture and faired design.
