Mahindra’s latest offering in the compact SUV segment, the XUV300, will be launched on February 14. Bookings for the XUV300 opened earlier this month. You can book one by visiting your nearest dealer on online for INR 20,000. Upon launch, it will rival the Tata Nexon, Ford Ecosport and the Maruti Vitara Brezza. The compact SUV segment has been a tough nut to crack for Mahindra and they are hoping that the baby XUV will turn the favors.
The XUV300 shares the underpinnings of the Ssangyong Tivoli. But, to bring the XUV under the four-meter mark, substantial changes have been made to the platform. The baby XUV will come loaded with a host of segment first features. There include a sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, 7 airbags. Other features include ABS with EBD, disc brake on all four sides, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, front parking sensors, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
Engine and Variants
Two engines will be on offer with the baby XUV. A 1.2 litre, 4 cylinder turbo petrol and a 1.5 Litre diesel engine that does its duty on the Marazzo. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard and an automatic variant will be launched later. Six color options are available to choose, viz., Sunburst Orange, Red rage, Aquamarine, Napoli black, Pearl white, Dsat silver. We have four variants to choose from in the XUV viz., W4, W6, W8 and W8 Opt.
Veejay Ram Nakra, Chief of Sales & Marketing, M&M Ltd. said “The XUV300 is a very exciting & comprehensive package that will compete with SUVs in the Rs. 8-12 Lakh (ex-showroom) price range.
