XUV 500 has been very upmarket and most loved SUV in Indian Market. The current flagship SUV from Mahindra is due for update and the facelift is expected to be launched in around a month. Mahindra has been rigorously testing the new facelift for XUV 500 which has been seen often with the camouflage with the upcoming TUV 300 extended wheel base and the Xylo replacement.

This time the SUV has been spotted without camouflage. The SUV has now all redesigned front and rear. XUV 500 now gets a more appealing front bumper with the mess grill design along with thick chrome surround. The updated designed gets redesigned projector headlamps and LED daytime running lights. Although the integrated fog lamps are pretty similar to its outgoing model which has chrome cladding.
The rear is a complete change! Don’t worry it has something new and premium for you. The rear is a extensively resigned and carries a new tail gate. The vertical tail lamps are gone now. Which is replaced with much practical “Y” shaped tail lamps with reflectors positioned down. The number plate mounting position has also been changed and the chrome above it is much sleeker.
Although the spy images doesn’t clear about the interiors. However, the interiors are expected to be updated too along with the central console, infotainment system, refreshed outlines and updated connectivity options.
The facelift XUV 500 is expected to be powered with the same power mill, a 2.2 litre turbo charged 4 cylinder diesel engine. Additionally to check mate the Compass the new facelift may get increased performance figures. The transmission though remains the same with a manual and automatic option along with front wheel and all-wheel drive system. ABS and twin airbags will be standard across the variants with top model featuring 6 air bags.
The new XUV 500 will rival against the Renault Captur, Jeep Compass, Tata Hexa. Mahindra is also testing its new flagship Rexton based XUV 700, showcased auto expo. The launch of XUV 700 is expected to launch soon.
