While we knew about the XPulse 200 already. Hero has revealed another version of the bike, XPulse 200T at EICMA 2018 in Milan, Italy. T stands for Touring. It gets certain features to justify the T moniker.
XPulse 200T sits lower than the standard Xpulse 200 by 30mm. Ergonomics have been changed too, a new handlebar and seat. Loading capacity has also been increased by a larger luggage plate. Touring focused wheels from MRF with 17-inch wheels at both ends.
XPulse 200T will be powered by the same 200cc engine as Hero Xtreme 200R. Producing 18.4PS at 8,000rpm and 17.1Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. The engine is Fuel Injected rather than carburetted as in Xtreme 200R. A higher placed exhaust pipe and a metal bash plate to protect the engine while off the road. XPulse 200T will feature single-channel ABS for safety and to conform to Indian norms. It gets all LED lights and a full-digital speedometer with Bluetooth connectivity which features navigation.
“The adventure and touring motorcycle segments are very popular across the world and here we are showcasing Hero’s vision for these segments with the XPulse 200T based on our unique XPulse platform. We aim to further expand this platform and add more products to our portfolio by the second quarter of the next year. Concurrently, we have used the new XPulse 200T for a unique initiative of co-creating diverse concepts with customisation specialists, and showcased the engineering prowess of developing a versatile platform. This also provides us an opportunity to capture the growing trend of direct customer engagement while opening the door to a new line of businesses,” said Malo Le Masson, Head of Global Product Planning, Hero MotoCorp.
With these new bikes, Hero is looking to enter into the premium segment. Both the XPulse will be launched in India around February 2019.
