Prior to the debut of the Polestar Engineered Volvo S60 sedan, on 20th June, 2018, Wednesday at opening ceremony of their new plant in Charleston, South Carolina USA, the company has uploaded a small teaser.
The Volvo S60 won’t have a diesel engine, which is something new. The sedan will be “Polestar Engineered” and it will be written on the interestingly designed grille. The sleek LED headlights have resemblance to the Swedish marque and bear the Thor’s Hammer Lighting motif. Generous side air intakes along with an aggressive looking bumper are some of the characteristic designing details of the Polestar Engineered automobiles.
The Sedan will draw power from a better version of the T8 engine which will produce a power output of 415 Hp and a peak torque of 670 Nm, which is 15 Hp and 30 Nm higher than the normal. The Sedan will come with a petrol engine or a hybrid motor, which will be mated to an eight speed automatic transmission system. The fuel consumption is relatively lower.
Brembo brakes, Öhlins shock absorbers, and some other features of the polestar engineered Sedan has been taken from the Polestar 1 plug-in hybrid coupe. Other features include sport seats, black chrome exhaust tips, and the yellow accents, which has become the signature colour of the Polestar. The range topping variant of the S60 is expected to get a “Polestar engineered” lettering on the exhausts.
The V60 wagon and XC60 crossover will also be upgraded to Polestar Engineering, which will be “available globally in limited numbers” from dealers and company’s subscription. The sedan Volvo S60 is expected to be priced from $36000. The debut that is to be held on the coming Wednesday, is something everyone is looking forward to. We expect the sedan to make its way to the Indian market very soon.
