Volkswagen India launched special Black and White editions for three of its cars including Polo, Ameo and Vento. These special editions get many cosmetic updates over the regular variant and will be available across the country without any extra cost.
Coming to the new features these special editions get. You get a Black and White theme across the vehicle exterior and interiors. The Black variants get white body graphics and a strip running around the side of the car. The White variant get a black coloured roof and same graphics on the side in black colour.
They get a roof edge spoiler, Black and White leatherette seat covers, rear spoiler, Black ORVMs, Balck and White badging over the fenders and 16-inch Portago alloy wheels. While the Polo and Ameo get the special edition based on top spec Highline Plus variant, the Vento on the other side gets the special edition based on Highline variant. Volkswagen also reintroduced the ‘Deep Black’ colour on the Polo and Vento. The Ameo is only available in White.

The engine remains the same for these special edition vehicles. The Polo is powered by a 3-cylinder 1.0-litre petrol engine that makes 76ps of power and 95Nm of torque. It also gets a 1.5-litre diesel mill that puts out 90ps of power and 230Nm of torque. Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Ameo also gets the same engine as Polo, the Diesel engine, however, is in a higher state of tune putting out 110ps of power and 250Nm of torque, it also gets an option of 7-speed DSG.
The Vento is offered with 1.6-litre petrol motor churning out 105ps and 153Nm of torque with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The diesel motor is the same as the Ameo and is also offered with 7-speed DSG gearbox. Vento also gets a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that makes 105ps of power and 174Nm of torque, it comes mated to a 7-speed DSG.
With the price remaining the same, these special additions are great to have. Polo starting at Rs 5.7 lakhs (ex-showroom) competes with Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ford Figo etc. Ameo starts at Rs 5.82 lakhs (ex-showroom) and competes with Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Ford Aspire, Hyundai Xcent and Tata Tigor. Vento starts in at Rs 8.6 lakhs (ex-showroom) and competes with Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City and Hyundai Verna.
