Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, the top-selling SUV in India has attained four-star safety rating by Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme). The powerful SUV has positively fascinated in the current sequence of crash tests. Previously, Tata Nexon also got the same rating which is an extremely rejoicing news for all the SUVs fans in India. The SUV makers are developing their vehicles with a powerful safety level. The results were declared today at the continuing ‘Global NCAP World Congress’ in Delhi. ‘Stop the Crash’, a new operation has also been started to generate consciousness and maintain safety.
Maruti Vitara Brezza SUV features dual airbags, ABS, and Isofix anchorages as standard, and managed to score four stars for adult occupant protection and two stars for child occupant stability. Moreover, it secured two stars for child occupant protection as the 18-month old dummy was placed in a forward facing position in the crash test, while the 3-year old dummy endured satisfying safety. Nevertheless, the vehicle didn’t record a good response in terms of Isofix anchorages as per the Global NCAP testing protocols.
According to David Ward, secretary general of Global NCAP, “The four-star result for Maruti Suzuki’s Vitara Brezza is really impressive. It demonstrates clearly the safety engineering capabilities of India’s leading vehicle manufacturer. It also shows the beneficial effects of the Indian Government’s new crash test standards helping to raise levels of vehicle safety. We are getting very close now to seeing India’s first five-star car”.
The crash test result also claimed that the driver and passenger head and neck was normal and the vehicle’s exterior build material was considered as durable besides aptitude of resisting additional burdening. Brezza SUV is loaded with many high-level safety features which makes the car a premium and modern model. We expect that the future cars will come with more advanced features and especially the safety features to satisfy the new vehicle norms coming into impact. The vehicles including Toyota Etios, the Tata Zest and the Volkswagen Polo are also in the list of cars who scored Global NCAP 4 star rating in India.
