On 26th September, 2018 Vazirani, an Indian manufacturer has unveiled the first hypercar – the Shul at an event in Mumbai, India. The Vazirani Shul is in concept form and was earlier unveiled at the 2018 Goodwood festival of Speed. Chunky Vazirani – the co founder of the brand has designed this turbine powered hypercar. Chunky Vazirani has worked with the likes of Land Rover, Jaguar and Rolls Royce. Moreover, the introduction of Vazirani Shul is a stepping forward move on the part of Vazirani after the launch of the Avanti sports car few years back.
The Shul hypercar is being designed and developed in California, where Vazirani’s design studio is located. The Force India Formula 1 team and Michelin, the world renowned tyre manufacturer are providing the inputs for developing the hypercar. In order to give a super low drag coefficient to the Vazirani Shul, it has been designed exclusively in the wind tunnel. Alike most of the hypercars and supercars, the Vazirani Shul is built around a low weight carbon fibre tube chassis.
Powering the Vazirani Shul is a jet turbine engine, which feeds the all four engine placed beside all the four wheels. The four engines are separately place with each wheels for providing independent torque vectoring.A single ratio transmission, as used by the Koenigsegg Regera gets matted to the turbine electric motor. Vazirani says the motor allows drives to use regular petrol so it can rely on the existing infrastucture. However, the technical details as well as the performance figures of the hypercar are yet to be revealed. Vazirani says its focus in on handling with the Shul with sportscar like responses while braking performance comes from Brembo.
The Varirani Shul hypercar is a sophisticated vehicle and its unique motor arrangement imparts a heavy torque performance while keeping the range unaffected. Mumbai, L.A. as well as other partners in UK, Italy and Japan are working together for the production version of the hypercar. The Vazirani Shul is still in concept form and it is expected that the production version will arrive in the Indian roads in 2021 – 22. Nearly 40 percent of the internal components are ready for the hypercar and now Vazirani, the Mumbai based company is working with the suppliers for the battery, motor, etc. Therefore, the other details of the hypecar will gradually be revealed by Vazirani.
