Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT Launched In India

Suzuki Motorcycles has finally ended rumors by launching the Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT ABS variant in India at INR 7.46 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The middle weight adventure tourer is offered in Champion Yellow Colour and Pearl Glacier White. The tourer will be brought to India as CKD (Completely Knocked Down) unit and assembled locally as the Hayabusa and GSX-S750.

The V-Strom 650 XT is placed as multipurpose vehicles and can be used for all purpose. Be it city commuter, a highway runner or your weeked off-roader. The V-Strom 650 XT is based on its elder brother V-Strom 1000. The ergonomics and lot of electronics are inspired by the V-Strom 1000. The V-Strom 650 XT is powered by a 645 cc, 90-degree V Twin engine which churns out 71 HP and 62 Nm of peak torque. The power is then managed by a 6 speed transmission and being off-roader the V-Strom gets three stage traction control. Mode one allows modest rear wheel spin for more advanced, exhilarating riding, while mode two activates traction control at the slightest loss of rear-wheel grip to give greater confidence on slippery surfaces or in the rain. While the third modes deactivates the traction control.

The adventurer tourer comes with two front disc brakes and single disc at the rear for better braking.  While the front wheel gets larger 19” Inch premium anodised wire-spoke rims with 110/80 section tubeless Tyres and at the rear it gets more rubber with 17” Inch wheel having 150/70 section tyres. The suspension is handled by Telescopic, coil spring, oil damped at the front and Link type, coil spring, oil damped at the rear. The V-Strom will rival against the Kawasaki Versys 650 which too has been struggling in the indian market and has pretty similar output number.

Satoshi Uchida, managing director, Suzuki Motorcycle India, said, “We are delighted to offer the ultimate adventure-tourer Suzuki V-Strom 650XT ABS to Indian customers as a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) unit, assembled in India.
