TVS scooters are seeing steady sales from the stables of TVS Motor Company. The main stars here are the TVS Jupiter and the newly launched TVS Ntorq 125. The company recorded a total sales of 1.45 lakh TVS scooters in the month of October 2018. Of this, the TVS Jupiter has the majority sales of over 1 lakh units.
The TVS Jupiter debuted in 2013 and quickly rose to the top spot, falling behind the Honda Activa. It was also the fastest scooter manufactured to reach the one million sales figure in just a little over 30 months. Also, interestingly, the two million sales milestone was achieved in just 10 months after the one million mark.
Recently, TVS came up with the TVS Jupiter Grande to compete against the likes of the Honda Activa 5G. This variant comes with new features like a digital-analog instrument cluster, LED headlamps and chrome accents on the side panels, mirrors and also the fenders.
The TVS Jupiter runs on a 109cc air cooled engine. This produces 7.8 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 8 Nm torque at 5,500 rpm.
TVS launched the performance oriented scooter – TVS Ntorq in February of 2018. The Ntorq comes with class leading features like an advanced instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity. It also quickly became one of the best selling 125cc scooters.
The TVS Ntorq runs on a 125cc, air cooled, 3 valve, single cylinder engine. This produces 9.1 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 10.5 Nm torque at 5,500 rpm. It also features a 220 mm single front disc brakes and 130mm rear drum brakes.
