All-New TVS iQube Electric Scooter Launched in India at Rs 1.15 lakh

TVS has entered the electric scooter segment today with the iQube. The all-new electric scooter is launched at an introductory price of Rs 1.15 lakh (on-road, Bengaluru). The company will start accepting the bookings from January 27 at a token amount of Rs. 5,000. The customers can book the electric scooter through TVS official website and dealerships in Bengaluru. For now, the scooter is not available in other cities, in the country.

The two-wheeler maker will deliver the scooter in other cites later. From the front, the iQube Electric gets a simple appearance with a stylish design. It is equipped with LED headlamp highlighting LED DRL’s strip. The black front apron and dual polished windshield give it a fresh appearance compared to other TVS scooters. The EV gets sleek turn signals along with a blue shaded iQ symbol located at the raised top and back.

At the side, we can see an iQube electric badge. The seat is comfortable flaunted by contrast red stitches. It features an all-digital instrument console with next-gen TVS SmartXonnect support as well. Some other features include Day and Night display, dual-tone single-unit grab rail, black switchgear, 12-inch black alloy wheels and single-tone mirrors. The company has used its iQube application, Smart Home charging unit and public charging which will enhance the riding experience.

In terms of safety, it also includes new-gen braking system, over-speed alert, incoming call/SMS alert, navigation assist, range indicator, and geo-fencing. The all-new iQube EV is powered by a 4.4kW electric motor that is said to claim a top speed of 78kph. It makes 6 bhp power and 140 Nm peak torque. The company also said that the scooter will claim 0-40kph time of just 4.2 seconds. The riders can use two riding modes: economy and power.

The electric scooter doesn’t feature fast-charging for now. It comes with the company’s hub motor and 118 kg of kerb weight. The battery gets fully charged in approx 5 hours. The scooter is equipped with a non-removable battery set up. It rivals against the likes of Bajaj Chetak and the Ather 450 and the Okinawa Praise. The company aims at delivering 100 units of the new EV in the just 3-4 days.
