TVS Apache: The third largest two-wheeler manufacturer, TVS has unveiled Apache RTR 200 Race Edition 2.0 and also the all-new Apache RR 310 race spec edition. The company has declared that they are ready to produce an extremely compelling variant of the Apache RTR 200 and RR 310 Race Edition. The latest variants will be exclusively introduced at the beginning of the RR cup. TVS Racing will take part in the 2018 Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC) to be held at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. They will compete in two levels: Group B Super-Sport category & the Group C Pro-Stock category following 165 cc concept.
Earlier, TVS has announced that they will soon uncover the specs of race edition of TVS Apache RR 310 and RTR 200. Total12 motorists have been selected to ride the brand-new TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and RR 310 race spec edition at TVS One Make Championship.
Highlighting the next INMRC season, team manager, TVS Racing, B Selvaraj, stated, “The last season was extremely good for us, with our champion rider Jagan Kumar scoring a double hat-trick of championship titles. Also, we won the team and manufacturer championship in Super Sport Indian up to 165cc category. We hope to continue our good form and the first race will be crucial to set the momentum for the rest of the season. The TVS One Make Series is also exciting this year with the inclusion of the TVS One Make Championship RR 310, and the introduction of the race-spec Apache RR 310 and the new Apache RTR 200 Race Edition 2.0.”
The sporty motorcycle, new Apache RTR 200’s appearance is not changed completely, however, there are few modifications received by the bike. It is now lighter compared to the previous version as it has ditched the headlight, rear taillight, turning indicators, rear view mirrors, carburetor, and number plate frame. The Race-Spec RTR 200 features the latest slipper clutch, a transformed camshaft, ignition system, exhaust system and rear shock. The suspension and tire remain the same compared to the existing model.
The RR 310 race edition variant is powered by an identical 313cc, single cylinder, liquid-cooled motor, but produces 38 bhp power which was just 34 bhp for existing model. The company claims a top speed of 175 kmph (15 kmph for existing), so it offers high performance as the power figures are increased. The TVS Apache RTR 200 comes equipped with 4 Stroke, Single cylinder, Oil Cooled, 4 Valve powertrain which generates 24 bhp of power @ 9300 rpm (20.5 hp @ 8,500 rpm on existing model). The top speed claimed at 145 kmph. The Race Edition motorcycles are specially developed for offering high-performance while on racetracks as the tires are made of Pirelli rubber for accurate grip on the track.
