Recently, Honda Car India has advertised their all-time favorite, Honda City sedan. You might be thinking that what’s unique in the advertisement as many company release commercials, so what’s the big deal. We could have ignored the new Honda City TVC, but this time we couldn’t. The famous automotive maker has pretty smartly taunted the competitors of Honda City by saying “forget the toys”. So, in this, the toys are referred to the rivals which could be Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna.

The Honda City was ruling the Indian automotive market for more than 20 years. Although, after the launch of the stylish 2012 Hyundai Verna Fluidic and 2016 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, the Honda City didn’t remain the leader of the C-Segment sedan range. At present, Honda City lock horns against the Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and Toyota Yaris, Ciaz is the prime opponent. In the video, the car is shown after half the content. In the first half, we can hear a description which explains that ‘others’ are attempting to be similar to ‘you’ though they will ‘never be you’.

Tata Motors getting ready to launch the new version of the City by 2020. The existing City petrol variant is powered by a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine which delivers 117 Bhp of power and 145 Nm of torque. The engine is combined to a 5-speed manual and CVT automatic gearbox choices. The diesel variant comes with 1.5-litre i-DTEC turbocharged engine which delivers 98.6 Bhp of power and 200 Nm of torque, combined with a 6-speed manual gearbox transmission.

The new version of City will be developed with more safety feature which is said to include dual Front Airbags, Side Airbags, Reverse Parking Sensors, ISOFIX Child Seat Mounts, Traction Control and Electronic Stability Program. While the current variant is produced with only dual front airbags with ABS and EBD as standard. Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna have a price range between INR 8 lakh whereas, the current City is available at Rs 8.96 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) which is more than Rs 70,000 more than competitors.
