The British bike maker, Triumph Motorcycles is ready to launch the all-new off-roader, Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC in the Indian market. The company has plans to introduce some amazing machines in the country, this year. Although, the series will begin from Scrambler 1200 XC. In the international market, the company has already launched the XC and XE variant.
The XC is a standard variant while the XE is a top specs version. The launch of the XE variant of 1200 series is still a mystery for now. The Scrambler 1200 will be introduced officially in an event to be held on May 23. It has received the striking tall look along with the same Street Scrambler concept. It is equipped with a small fuel tank and the slender seat of 840mm in height.
When compared with Scrambler, it has got the same high side-mounted exhaust pipes, extended seat height position and boosted rear fender. It is available in two exciting shades: Jet Black and Khakhi Green. It is integrated with LED lighting. It sits on a larger 21-inch wheel at the front which is first-in-class and 17-inch wheel at the rear. The wheels are features wire-spoke rims support tubeless tyres.
The upcoming bike will be available in dual-purpose Metzeler Tourance tyres as well as off-road focused Pirelli Scorpion Rally tyres. It is integrated with a second-gen colour TFT screen which supports the GoPro control system. The bike also features turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth connectivity on option, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), a USB port and heated grips (optional).
The round headlamp at the front gives a great retro look combined with the modern design. The upcoming Scrambler 1200 XC is powered by a Triumph Thruxton-based parallel-twin 1200 cc engine which produces 90 bhp of peak power at 7,400 rpm and 110 Nm of max torque at 3,950 rpm. The engine is combined with a 6-speed gearbox transmission.
In terms of suspension, the 1200cc bike comes with 45 mm fully adjustable Showa USD at the front and fully adjustable Ohlins dual shock absorbers at the rear. The bike is developed with slip and assist clutch, switchable traction control and switchable dual-channel ABS as standard. The company also offers five riding modes: Road, Rain, Sport, Rider and Off-Road, which makes your ride comfortable.
2019 Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC is expected to be priced nearly Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). After the official launch, the Scrambler 1200 XC will rival against the likes of Ducati Scrambler 1100 range which is priced between Rs 10.91 lakh -11.42 lakh and BMW RnineT Scrambler available at Rs 15.55 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom India.
