Toyota has finally launched their Mid-Size Sedan Yaris in India. The base trip comes at a price of Rs. 8.75 lakhs and the highest one has a price tag of Rs. 14.07 lakhs. The car can be booked at Rs. 50000 and the deliveries will begin soon enough.
Toyota Yaris comes with an engine option of 1496 cc, 2NR FE, 4 cylinder inline ,16 valve dual VVT-i petrol engine with 6 speed manual transmission system or 7 speed CVT system. The Petrol MT and CVT both engines churns out a power of 106 bhp at 6000 rpm and a torque of 140 Nm at 4200 rpm. The mileage offered by the MT engine is 17.1 kmpl and the CVT one offers a 17.8 kmpl mileage. The Yaris has an overall length of 4425 mm, a breadth of 1730 mm and a height of 1495 mm. The wheelbase is 2550 mm. The gross vehicle weight is 1580 kgs. the boot space is 476 litres and the fuel tank has a capacity of 42 litres.
Roof mounted air vents with ambient illumination, 8 way adjustable power driver seat, glass-high solar energy absorbing (HSEA) and tyre pressure monitoring system are a few features one should look for in the Yaris. A 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system with gesture control, automatic climate control sir conditioner, audio telephony and cruise control functions just add up to the reasons to give this car a thumbs up. The interiors of the car resembles that of the Corolla launched back in 2014. And like a cherry on the top the Yaris has secured a 5 star safety rating in the ASEAN NCAP crash test.
The Toyota Yaris will have 4 trims, namely, the J, G, V and VX, which will be available for Rs. 8.75 lakhs, Rs. 10.56 lakhs, Rs. 11.70 lakhs and Rs. 12.85 lakhs for the Manual transmission ones respectively. On the other hand the CVT version of the J, G, V and VX trims will be available for Rs. 9.95 lakhs, Rs 11.76 lakhs, Rs. 12.90 lakhs and Rs 14.07 lakhs respectively. The car us available in the following colours, Wildfire Red, Phantom Brown, Grey Metallic, Super White, Pearl White and Silver Metallic. The Yaris has already made some rivals, such as the, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City and Honda Verna. Skoda Rapid, Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and Volkswagen Vento are also viewed as potential competitors.
