The top-spec variant of the upcoming premium hatchback can be introduced with a CVT gearbox and a standard 5-speed manual transmission. It is also assumed to be powered by a single BS-VI-compliant 1.2-litre petrol engine. At present, the best-selling Baleno is sold with a 1.2-litre K-series petrol and a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine. Recently, Maruti Suzuki Baleno is also introduced with a new 1.2-litre DualJet petrol with Smart Hybrid technology.

Toyota Glanza hatchback will be produced from Suzuki Motor’s Gujarat facility which is specially built to invent and trade new models in the Indian market. The subsidiary Maruti Suzuki will additionally trade Toyota badged Baleno to TKM (Toyota Kirloskar Motor). The all-new Baleno will be developed at the Toyota’s plant in Bidadi, Bangalore. The upcoming hybrid will be a full-hybrid model which will be based on Camry Hybrid.

Toyota Glanza will rival against the popularity of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Honda’s Jazz, Volkswagen Polo, and the Hyundai i20. You can also notice the Maruti Suzuki models including Ertiga, Ciaz and Vitara Brezza in the Toyota dealerships in the coming future. The premium hatchback will be introduced with an expensive price tag compared to the Baleno.
