India’s best selling MPV and the luxury SUV – the Innova Crysta and the Fortuner has been recalled. The Crysta models manufactured between April 2016 and January 2018 are applicable for the recall. The Fortuner models manufactured between October 2016 and November 2017 are subjected to recall.
Both the four wheelers have been recalled to fix faulty wiring harnesses and fuel hoses. The authorised Toyota dealership all over India will carry out the required replacements causing no cost to the customers. The recall procedure by the Toyota dealers has already begun for the Innova Crysta and the Fortuner models those have been sent to regular service.
A part of the wiring harnesses will be checked for rubbing against other wires. And to prevent such problems the wiring harnesses will be taped. The taping prevents it from running against other wires. This procedures will be Carried out at the Toyota service centres. The petrol powered versions of Toyota Innova Crysta and the Fortuner are also recalled to check fuel hose routing. If needed that will also be replaced. The fuel return hose is wrongly connected to the canister hose. This case cause fuel leakage when ever the tank is full.
The owners are suggested to make alternative arrangements of transport before they sent their cars for the recall. Because the recall procedure may take one full day to undergo all inspection and repairs. Therefore the vehicle will be off road for a day, when it is attended under the recall.
High comfort, reliability, great after sales service and the low maintenance cost are the reasons which makes the customers attracted to Toyota Innova Crysta and the Fortuner. Although it’s premium cost is high. The Innova Crysta is the India’s best selling MPV. It is bought both for cap operators and the family car buyer as well.
The Toyota Innova Crysta is sold with both petrol and diesel engine. It is priced starting from Rs 14.33 lakhs in the showrooms of Delhi. Great street presence along with similar reliability adds to the sales growth of the Fortuner. The Fortuner, a luxury SUV is priced starting from Rs 26.64 lakhs in the showrooms of Delhi. It is also available in both petrol and diesel engine. Both the four wheelers is powered to a 2.7 litre dual VVT – i petrol engine. This engine produces power of 166 PS and a peak torque of 245 Nm. Transmission option include a five speed manual and a six speed automatic.
