Toyota has started delivering the upcoming Glanza to the dealerships. The amazing car is scheduled to launch on 6th June, this year. The car was previously spotted at the dealership which revealed the exterior details. The car has been spied again and this time the complete interior has been revealed. The first look at the cabin has confirmed that the Glanza is similar to the popular, Baleno.
The upcoming Glanza has been developed jointly by Toyota and Maruti Suzuki. The designing and concept are based on Maruti Suzuki Baleno, which is one of the best selling cars in India. According to the latest spy shots, the rebadged Baleno has received the same Baleno features inside the cabin including Maruti’s SmartPlay infotainment system. The features are the same, but the screen will start with a Toyota logo.
The interior of all-new Glanza will be equipped by the same dashboard, instrument panel, and air-con vents. The steering wheel features a new Toyota logo which differs from Baleno. The company has offered a few new elements on the exterior which makes it different from Baleno. It is outfitted with new radiator grille and dual chrome finished slats.
The Glanza is outfitted with new alloy wheel covers. The rear section of the car is modified as well. In terms of safety, the car gets dual airbags, climate control, reverse camera, parking sensors, automatic headlamps and ABS and EBD. It will be powered by the K12M 1.2L VVT petrol motor. It is a naturally aspirated four-cylinder unit which makes 82.94 PS of power at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of max torque at 4,200 rpm.
The engine will be combined with a 5-speed manual transmission and a CVT also on offer. The fuel economy is claimed at 21.01 km/l (MT)/19.56 km/l (CVT). The company has already commenced production at the Suzuki Motor’s facility in Gujarat. The popular Baleno was also developed in the same Maruti Suzuki India factory.
The car will be launched in two top-specs G and V variants, similar to Baleno Zeta and Alpha trims. The car has been already spotted in the top-spec V variant. It is expected to be priced more than Baleno. Expect it to get a price tag around Rs 7 lakh, ex-showroom. After the launch, it will rival against Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite-i20, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo and the upcoming Tata Altroz.
