Toyota USA has released a teaser of the concept which they will showcase in the Los Angeles Motor Show. The company has also revealed the sedans via tweet. The show will begin from November 28. The new concept will be known as the Toyota Camry and the teaser gives us a glimpse of the dashing concept. The dashing first look of the car suggests performance car with sporty and bold appearance.
Camry will be revealed along with US-based Avalon twin which will be a perfect performance-concept and more than your expectation. We will get more information at the official reveal. The design of the entry-level and top-specs sedans will be inspired by the 86 TRD. The company is keen to add new models in the TRD range. The vehicle will be integrated with an extremely high-performance powertrain which will produce high power figures compared to previous gen models.
The Camry TRD and Avalon TRD will highlight the company’s traditional features including all-black headliner, and comfy seats. Toyota is expected to offer the car with a special kit which will consist of a sports exhaust and a six-cylinder engine. The Camry will get modified suspension arrangement and TRD decorations in the cabin as well as on the body to give it a unique premium look.
The existing Camry which is sold in the US market is powered by a 3.5-litre V6 engine which generates 305hp of power. The engine is expected to get an improvement with the eight-speed automatic transmission. It could also come with Sachs shock absorbers and solid anti-roll bars. To improve the performance, the twins can boost the power to 400 horsepower and can also introduce all-wheel drive as an option. Although, we still have a huge doubt over the power figures.
So, will these TRD even come to the Indian market? Well, we don’t expect these high-performance sedans to reach in the country anytime soon. Although, if the company ever plans to introduce the models in India, the power figures and transmission will be reduced. It could launch in a 2.5-litre petrol-electric motor. The petrol engine can produce 176hp power whereas the electric unit could deliver 118hp. So, the total power becomes 208hp. Its engine could be combined with a 6-step CVT automatic.
