Tata Motors has finally launched the most-awaited Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP today. The cars are developed by Tata Motors in a joint venture (called JT Special Vehicles) with Jayem Automotive. The vehicles are introduced in the Indian market at a price tag of Rs 6.39 lakhs for the Tiago and Rs 7.49 lakhs for the Tigor, (ex-showroom New Delhi). The company has announced a top-specs go-faster variant of both the models with a high-performance engine, suspension, bold appearance.
Compared to the standard Tiago and Tigor, the dimension of the JTP version is unchanged. Although, the height is mildly changed. The ground clearance is lowered to 166mm that was 170mm in standard Tiago and Tigor. The front fascia of the JTP is sportier and striking than the standard version. The JTP is equipped with bold looking front bumpers highlighted with a larger trapezoidal front grille which has shiny black detailing.
The Tiago JTP is introduced in a red exterior shade whereas, Tigor JTP comes in a white shade surface. It has received air vent on the hood as well as on the front fender which looks attractive. The company’s badge makes the front fascia more appealing. Tiago is integrated with the smoked headlamp, on the other hand, Tigor comes with dual-chamber projector systems.
The JTP is outfitted with a similar 15-inch diamond cut dual tone 6.5J lightweight alloy wheels. At the rear, the JTP version gets side skirts, spoiler, contrast roof, contrast ORVMs, fender vents and JTP logo attached on the grille. The rear section of the car is more stylish and unique with dual barrel exhaust and all-black roof.
In terms of cabin modifications, the company has given a prominent theme highlighted with red detailing on AC vents and conflicting red stitching. It is integrated with the leather-wrapped steering wheel which is also furnished with red contrast stitch. The interior has an all-black seat upholstery with the red hexagonal theme. To improve the safety level, the company adds features like dual front airbags and next-gen ABS with EBD and Corner stability control for complete safety in all driving circumstances.
The dash gets a 5.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system which supports Bluetooth and voice command recognition. Moreover, the interior gets aluminium pedals, special JTP floor mats, and JTP logo on the instrument cluster. The cabin features eight-speaker Harman music system with the ConnectNext infotainment system to improve the sound effects.
Tigor JTP is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged Revotron petrol engine that generates 112bhp power at 5,000rpm and 150Nm torque between 2,000 and 4,000rpm. It features intake and exhaust system with particularly tuned. The engine is combined with a 5-speed manual transmission along with an optimised gear ratio for advanced speedup and performance in the two drive modes: Sport and City. It claims a speed at 100kmph in 10 seconds.
In terms of braking, the JTP comes with front Disc Brakes & Caliper and
rear Drum brakes. The suspension duties are handled with Independent Lower Wishbone, Mcpherson strut with coil spring at the front and semi-independent, twist beam with dual path strut at the rear.
The all-new Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP will focus on attracting young buyers in the country in this festive season. Originally, Tata Motors will produce the JTP models is all showrooms, but at present, the supply is limited to just 30 showrooms in 11 cities. The company will make sure that the models reach all the interested buyers all over the country soon.
