The Tata Harrier is finally revealed as name of the production specification H5X SUV concept today 11th of July by the Tata Motors. The Tata Motors makes an official statement to announce it as the “Tata Harrier”. The Tata H5X SUV concept globally made its first appearence at the Auto Expo 2018 in Delhi.
The Tata Harrier will be launched in starting of next year. This four wheeler model will be available in Indian market by the middle of 2019. The upcoming four – wheeler will be offered with both five seats and seven seats. The seven – seater Tata Harrier model will be launched by late 2019.
The upcoming four – wheler will be the competitor of the Hyundai Creta, the Mahindra XUV 500 and the Jeep Compass and the Renault Captur when it gets launched in India. The name Harrier suits the all over design of the HRX. Besides that the Harrier is a unique name for SUV.
The Tata Harrier is likely to be powered to a Fiat sourced 2 litre diesel engine. The engine produces a power ranging between 140 bhp to 170 bhp. A ZF sourced nine speed automatic gearbox will be paired to the engine. A model of SUV that runs on petrol may be introduced by Tata Motors later. The Tata Harrier is named after a dominant beast imbued with endless stammina and strength.
The Tata Harrier is the toughest Tata SUV till date. It has been under test in the Himalayas. The set of spy shots reveal the rear profile of the upcoming model. The upcoming new car intends to retain 80 percent of the design elements from the concept of H5X. This is as per stated by Tata Motors. Most importantly the highly concealed SUVs have retain maximum of the design from the H5X.
The Tata New SUV seems to run on 18 inch five spoke alloy wheels. This is unlike that of the H5X concept that gets large 22 inches wheel. This upcoming four – wheeler is provided with a windshield glass at the rear. The sloping roofline which was found in the HRX concept seems to be replaced by a straighter silhouette. This upcoming model is likely to be priced between Rs 12 lakhs to Rs 16 lakhs.
