Tesla reported, “ Based on the advanced architecture of Model S and Model X, where were previously found by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration [NHTSA] to have the lowest and second lowest probabilities of injury of all cars ever tested, we engineered Model 3 to be the safest car ever built. Not only Model 3 has achieved a perfect 5 star safety rating in every category and sub category, but NHTSA’s tests also show that it has the lowest probability of injury of all cars the safety agency has ever tested.”

The architecture of the car minimizes the rotational kinetic energy and improves capability of the stability control of the car. The Tesla Model 3 is engineered with a very low moment of inertia and 50/50 weight distribution. The all electric architecture and powertrain of the model 3 includes a strong rigid passenger compartment, fortified battery pack and low centre of gravity. All these together prevent any kind of intrusions within the cabin, battery nodules and roll over risk distributing the crash force away from the cabin. Tesla have also added new innovations in crash structure design, restraints and specially design air bags on the Model 3.
