Tata Tigor JTP has been spotted testing again. The car was earlier showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo in Delhi. Tata Tiago JTP is also rumoured to be in the works. The Tigor JTP has been spied this time sporting twin barrel exhaust. The car will also come equipped with a more powerful engine. It is expected to run on a 1.2 liter Revotron turbo charged petrol engine. The engine will produce a maximum power of 110ps and a peak torque of 150Nm. It will come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
The Tata Tigor JTP will also receive style upgrades over the existing Tigor model. It will sport a body kit, which will include a new rear bumper, integrated spoiler, smoked-finish headlamps, a matte grille, new alloy wheel design, as well as side skirts. The hood also has a unique off-center air scoop. The red themed mirrors and brake calipers will also help in differentiating it from the stock Tiago. It also runs with a lower ground clearance and stiffer suspension setup. The new spy shots also showcase the uncamouflaged, unpainted rear bumper. It is seen with reverse parking sensors. The rear of the car also misses out on the chrome boot garnish of the stock model.
The car will also get premium interiors that will go with the JTP badging. The Tigor will have an all black interior with contrasting red accents around the airconditioning vents. It will come with a touch screen infotainment system that will support Android Auto and Apple Carplay. The Tigor JTP will also get dual front airbags, anti lock braking system, electronic brake force distribution, rear parking cameras, sensors and engine immobilizer.
Tata Tigor JTP India Launch
The car is being jointly developed with Coimbatore-based Jayem Automotives. Jayem Automotives is responsible for the development of the sportier Tigor JTP and Tiago JTP models for Tata.
The launch of either the Tigor JTP and Tiago JTP in India is not confirmed yet but it is most likely to make it to the India market. The Tigor JTP is expected to be priced around INR 8 lakh. It will compete against cars like Ford Aspire and the Honda Amaze.
