Tata Tiago: In the month of January this year, first time, Tata Tiago outsold Maruti Suzuki Celerio and Hyundai Eon and was got eight-position in the top-selling cars in January 2018. This report was analyzed by the SIAM domestic sales record. Tata Motors traded about 8,287 units of Tiago hatchback in 2018 January. Although, the car remains in the list of the best selling car’s of the company, till now. It also excelled the small variant model, Renault Kwid, which is known to be the most affordable small car.
Tata Motors sold 7,071 units of the hatchback in the month of April and still remains to produce the best-power-packed model. On the other hand, the French automobile maker, Renault traded 5792 units of the affordable, Kwid. Kwid is one of the best selling cars of Renault. Tiago was introduced in the global market in the year 2016. Tata Motors sells approximately 38% of the Tiago of the total sales. According to current reports, Tata Motors dispatched total 21,872 units of all models in January this year, whereas 8,287 units were only of the popular, Tiago.
Beside Renault Kwid, there are many other cars which Tiago beats because of its winning price tag. Hyundai Eon is a struggle to sell about 4,663 units in the month of April 2018. Hyundai is trying harder to improve the sales of the low-cost, Eon. Eon is not so popular in the automotive market compared to Tiago and KWID because of its low power figures, dimension, and features. Tata has given has a fine price tag to Tiago which is helping it to increase its sales. Tiago is a middle spec car which is also worth its mind-blowing features and specs. The price of Tiago is lower than Maruti Suzuki Celerio and WagonR whereas higher than Alto K10 and Kwid. Tiago has also outsold Maruti Suzuki Celerio in January 2018.
Discussing the Tiago, the existing model is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine which produces 84 Bhp of max power and 114 Nm of peak torque. The power figures are even higher compared to the WagonR and Celerio which are equipped with a 1-liter-3-cylinder petrol engine and produces 67 Bhp power and 90 Nm torque. Tiago is also available in a diesel variant of a 1.1-litre-3 cylinder turbocharged diesel engine producing 69 Bhp power and 140 Nm torque. Although the rivaling models are not offered in a diesel option.
Looking at the high demand of Tiago, the company has decided to introduce a top-spec variant of it. It will be more extreme with fascinating design and performance. In the 2018 Auto Expo, Tata Motors debuted the top spec variant which was called, Tiago JTP. It is expected to be powered by a powerful 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine which will deliver 108 Bhp of peak power and 150 Nm of a peak torque. The top-spec variant will be offered in more advanced features and safety level. As it was debuted in Auto Expo so, its expected to be launched in India in coming years.
