Tata Motors have been silently working on the new cross over based on Tata Tiago after the Hatchback held great success to the manufacturer. The Tata Tiago NRG is all set to launch on 12 September. Although Team-BHP has managed to get exclusive pictures of the new crossover.
The Tata Tiago NRG which is pronounced as Energy would be coming with lot of changes to make it a crossover which includes a higher ground clearance of 180 mm compared to the 170 mm ground clearance what we have seen in the regular Tiago. The leaked images reveals a lot about the upcoming car like, the blacked out front grill and smoked headlamp. Aluminum finish Scuff plates at both front and rear. Side arches running across the wheel arches from the front to the rear with a huge cladding in the rear between the tail lamps which holds the badging for NRG.
The Tiago NRG has roof rails to justify its crossover profile and give more rugged look. ORVM are blacked out too. The Dimensions are still under question until the official launch. Although the car is expected to be wider and longer compared to the standard Tiago. The Tiago NRG gets a new designed diamond cut 14 inch allow wheel to out-stand it in the crowd.
The Interior is pretty same in terms of design but with silver accents and orange color inserts. Which can also been seen in the gear lever console unit. The Tiago NRG continue to get the 5 inch touchscreen infotainment system along with 3D navigation system with the class leading 8 speaker Harman audio system.
The Tiago is expected to launch in both diesel and petrol variant with the same power units which is featured in standard Tiago. The petrol is a 1.2 litre petrol unit which churns out 85 BHP and 114 Nm of peak torque. While the diesel is a 1.05 litre motor generating 69 BHP with a maximum torque of 140 Nm.
Tata Motors have been expanding the market share with exploring more from every bit of the Tiago hatchback. The success of the Tiago has already defined the sales graphs going high every month and to keep the momentum Tata Tiago NRG would for sure help in boost the sales and the variation in the product would also increase the lineup. The Tiago is expected to be launched with single variant which won’t see an AMT variant and would be priced at 50-80K premium to the standard Tiago.
