Earlier, Tata Tiago JTP was revealed at the Auto Expo 2018, and this is the first time that the hatchback has been spotted testing. It is one of the most awaited models for all the Tata car fans which is expected to hit the market next month. The upcoming Tata Tiago JTP looks really modern and stylish. In the latest spy shots, the vehicle is spied in a production variant hatchback.
The production-spec was spied testing completely undisguised. So, we get the glimpse of the upcoming sporty car for the first time. The car has received few minor exterior updates and some technical changes which will make it distinct from the standard variant of Tiago. The Tiago JTP is produced jointly by Tata Motors and Coimbatore’s Jayem Auto. The spy shots revealed that the vehicle has got bright red detailing highlighting a few black portions. Regarding the front section, the vehicle gets a redesigned bumper including a wider air dam and fog lamp installation. It is integrated with smoked projector headlights.
In the new images, the vehicle is noticed with an updated rear. The body features dual-tone bumper with a faux-diffuser that consists of the rear fog lamp and dual exhaust peaks. The shiny black roof and the rear spoiler gives it a striking appearance. The black-segments includes the B-pillars and air vents including ‘JTP’ logo on the front covers. The car is equipped with larger twin-shaded alloy wheels, side skirts and blacked ORVMs coupled with turn signals.
In terms of the cabin, the hatchback comes with an all-black detailings with red strokes on the air-con vents. The interior has a great combination of red and back. The seats and steering wheel highlight red stitching. It is also equipped with good aluminum pedals. However, the company has not officially announced the interior features, but reports claim that it could come with 5.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system which is present in Tiago NRG. The will also feature the eight-speaker sound system from Harman.
The stylish hatchback will be powered by 1.2 liters, 3 cylinders, turbo petrol engine which is based on the Tata Nexon. The engine will be built with improvements to the intake and exhaust systems which will provide enhanced performance. The engine of the Tata Nexon generates 110 hp power and 150 Nm torque. The present standard variant of Tiago churns out 85hp power and 114 Nm torque, so the JTP is expected come with increased power figures. The engine can be combined with a 5-speed gearbox. The Tiago JTP is assumed to be priced at Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom) which is one lakh more than standard variant.
