Tata Motors has now come up with a list of safety features as standard for their best selling hatchback – Tata Tiago. Tata Tiago comes with different variant including the urban toughroader – Tata Tiago NRG. There’s also the hot hatch from Tiago stable, Tata Tiago JTP.
Coming to the safety features that Tata introduced in the Tiago range include Antilock Braking System (ABS), Dual Airbag as standard. Other features are Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) which helps to distribute the braking force evenly among all the tires, Corner Stability Control (CSC), and Rear Parking Sensors. This comes as the follow up to the new norms mandated by the government.
The interior gets a dual tone scheme. It features a ConnectNext 7-inch touchscreen unit with 8 speakers by Harman, which comes with AndroidAuto connectivity, available in the top variant. Automatic climate control, Electrically folding ORVMs, Height adjustable steering and Driver’s seat. Tiago also gets alerts for over-speeding, seat belt warning, seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters.

The engine though remains the same Revotron 1.2L petrol which churns out 85PS at 6000RPM and max torque of 114Nm at 3500RPM. The diesel unit is a Revotorq 1.05L with 70PS of power at 4,000rpm and 1430Nm of torque between 1800 to 3000rpm. Petrol comes mated to a 5-speed transmission as well as an AMT option, while the diesel gets only the 5-speed manual transmission. The petrol comes with 15-inch Dual tone alloy wheels, and Diesel comes with 14-inch ones.
We already know that Tata Motors make one of the strongest cars in the industry, with Nexon getting 5-star EURO NCAP rating. These safety features as standard further improve the safety of the driver and passenger. The new models are under dispatch and will be available soon at Tata Motor Dealers. It comes with a starting price of Rs 4.40 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Tata Tiago competes with Hyundai Santro, Maruti Suzuki WagonR and Datsun Go.
