Obviously Tata shares the love for Tiago as we do, as it just keeps on improving this already great car!
The new Hyundai Santro is selling like hot cakes, racking up about 35000 bookings since its launch a month ago. The 7 inch touchscreen and the rear parking cameras are alone enough to break the deal for many a customer.
Tata has now responded with the announcement of a new variant of Tiago- the XZ +. For those who want style, see no more. The XZ+ comes with larger 15 inch rims and new diamond cut alloys taken straight off the Tigor. The car gets smoked projector headlamps, side body mouldings and a contrast roof!
The interior features the new 7 inch touchscreen with Android Auto and voice recognition features. The touchscreen also helps as parking assist. Also the number of tweeters provided for the brilliant Harman Kandon Audio system is increased to 4. A fully automatic climate control AC and electronically folding ORVMs are also on the cards of this variant.
The existing diesel and petrol powertrains continue to power the Tiago with no mechanical changes. But the XZ+ variant will not get the AMT transmission which is exclusive to only petrol XT and XZ variants.
The variant’s scheduled launch is on 12th December. The high end variant of Santro, the Asta costs about 5.45 Lakhs (ex-showroom) and if Tata can undercut it, then Hyundai will have a lot to worry about!
