Overview
Indian market is more reclined towards SUVs and now compact SUVs have too started attracting the new young buyers. Tata launched Nexon in September, 2017 and since then it is making headlines and attracting lot of new buyers. Tata Nexon Compact SUV has already crossed 10,000 mark in just 3 months and the Tata Nexon has a waiting time of 6 to 10 months depending upon the variant. The production of the car is expected to be doubled in TATA’s Ranjangaon plant.

Tata Nexon being a sub 4 meter SUV has created stir in compact SUV and crossover segment. It has direct rival with the best selling Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and also Hyundai Creta. It has also made difficulties for crossover segment like Honda BRV, WRV and Hyundai i20 Actve. The pricing has been done very right way to keep it as lowest yet value for money compact SUV.

Specification
The Compact SUV has been introduced with two new engine which are developed in-house by TATA, the 1.5-litre Revotorq diesel engine and 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine. The diesel engine has a displacement of 1497 CC with churns out a maximum of 108 bhp @ 3750 rpm with torque of 260 Nm @ 1500-2750 rpm which is mated with a 6 speed manual transmission. The petrol engine has a displacement of 1198 CC with a maximum output of 108 bhp @ 5000 rpm with a peak torque of 170 Nm @ 1750-4000 rpm and this is to a 6 speed manual. However, basis the success of Nexon, the Automatic transmission is also expected soon.

Exterior
Nexon almost remains the same as it was first showcased @ Auto Expo and has few minor changes in it from the Concept car. The Front facia has bold signature with its Signature grill with chrome outlines. The LED headlamps with LED DRL’s too gives it a aggressive stance. The front bumper has fog lamps with ceramic white highlights and is nicely lined with the body. The side has a ceramic white line too, running towards the end with a low roof giving it a coupe like design which makes its different from the others out there. The rear is too indiscriminately designed well with LED back-lits and here the white ceramics line are used instead of chrome like in other available in market. The SUV comes with 16 inch diamond cut alloy wheels.

Tata Nexon colors does not has much variety, yet has some nice colors, it is available in five different colors – Calgary White, Glasgow Grey, Moroccan Blue, Seattle Silver and Vermont Red.

Interior
TATA has already show cased its interior designing in Tiago and this time too it has worked really hard to make the interiors look top-notch. The interior has dual tone dash board with a floating touch screen of 6.5 inch display and mated with Harman music speakers. The plastic material does not seems to cheap and looks premium. The cars is quite roomy inside and has lot of space in every section, like seats, side doors, underneath the arm rest and the exclude glove box. The seats are leather with fabric, has nice cushioning, you won’t feel like seating in a compact SUV.

Verdict
Tata has undoubtedly has made a master piece which is being paying them with number of increased sales. The car has all features loaded to make you feel premium. However, being TATA people have concern over after sales and resale value but this time TATA is much more aggressive and has improved after sales service and ultimately this will increase the resale value but this may take some time. If you are looking for a compact SUV or crossover, this master piece can become your choice as it has the checklist ticked.
