Tata Nexon AMT: The Indian automotive maker, Tata Motors is all set to release the next-gen model in India which is the famous Nexon AMT. The new-gen, Tata Nexon AMT model has been called as the ‘HyprDrive’ and the company has recently revealed some of the latest modified specs of the model. So, here is the information of the Nexon AMT which was reported officially. At present, the company has decided to release the variant in the market as the compact SUV including the automatic transmission for just the high-grade XZA+ versions of petrol as well as diesel alternatives. They have planned to release the latest Nexon AMT in the first half of the coming month.
The automatic and the standard variant are similar excluding the emblem at the back segment. Moreover, the car will be coming in exciting colors including latest twin shade, orange, and silver, surface color tone along with the latest model. The company had also debuted Nexon AMT at the 2018 Auto Expo which was noticed with the identical outer coating. It will be available in 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and the 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engines variants which will be combined with a latest 6-speed automated manual gearbox transmission (manual mode feature). The diesel and petrol variant produces 260 Nm and 170 Nm of peak torque, respectively along with 108bhp of power for both variants.
The company has used multi-drive modes for both the engines such as Eco, City, and Sport. The AMT’s manual transmission mode adjusts the engine’s driving mode to Sport. Moreover, the gearbox features hill assist and creep to support in bumper-to-bumper traffic. The latest transmission equipped in the vehicle raised the heaviness of the petrol engine variant near about 15kg and weighs approx. 1,252kg. The diesel engine variant will be also heavy at approx. 1,305kg. The package of automatic XZA+ models is also provided in manual XZ+ models. Furthermore comes with impressive highlights such as projector headlamps including LED daytime running lights, 16-inch alloy wheels shod in 215/60 tires, front fog lamps, and 60:40 split folding rear seats.
Some other features include Harman-based 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system which supports Android Auto and also a wearable smart key available only on offer. As said earlier, the Nexon AMT is only available in top-spec variant although, as per the reports, the company can roll out a mid-spec XTA variant soon. At present, the Nexon is first compact SUV to be available with an automatic model for INR 50,000 more than the existing variants. The XZ+ petrol and XZ+ diesel variant are available at INR 9.02 lakh and Rs 9.89 lakh, respectively. Both the prices are ex-showroom Delhi. The Tata model will compete with Ford EcoSport and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
