Tata Motors has launched two all-new feature-loaded AMT (automated manual transmission) variants of the best-selling Tata Tigor. The new variants are revealed to attract more customers in the segment. The new variants will definitely enhance the sales of the compact sedan. It is the addition to XZA variant of Tigor sedan. The two variants are mid-level AMT XMA and top specs XZA+ variant. The XMA is sold at Rs 6.39 Lakhs and XZA+ is priced at Rs 7.24 Lakhs, (ex-showroom Delhi).
All the Tigor variants are available with AMT option except XE which is the entry-level variant. The two new variants are powered by the 1.2L Revotron petrol and the 1.05L Revotorq diesel engine. The Tigor was first launched in March 2017 and was updated in October 2018. The updated variant was packed with many new and interesting features which have attracted many customers. It also comes in different shades including Egyptian Blue, Roman Silver, Espresso Brown, Berry Red, Pearlescent White and Titanium Grey.
The petrol engine is capable of making 84 bhp of max power and 114 Nm of peak torque, combined with a 5-speed manual gearbox along with AMT unit on option now. The diesel motor delivers 69 bhp of max power and 140 Nm torque, combined with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. The company has previously confirmed that they will stop production of the small diesel engine which is not cost-effective for BS6 update. The new emission norm will come into impact in April, next year.
The cabin of the updated variant is more comfortable and luxurious. The latest variants are featured with fully automatic temperature control (FATC) highlighting consistent cooling inside the cabin. The new variants are available with boot space of 419 litres. It is also built with spacious and free opening employing an all-new 4 bar mechanism and 24 intelligent spaces. The top-specs XZA+ variant is developed with some advanced features including 17.78cm (7 inches) touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and an 8 speaker sound system by Harman.
Tata Tigor XZA+ sits on all-new 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. It is equipped with auto-fold ORVMs with integrated LEDs highlighting break-free coupe-like roofline and chrome polished twin projector headlamps set up. In common, both variants are built with driving modes, a Harman tuned music system with Bluetooth connectivity, reverse parking sensors, and foldable rear armrest.
The new variants come with high-level safety features including Dual Airbags, Anti-lock Brakes, Electronic brake-force distribution, and Corner Stability Control. Moreover, it also gets reverse parking sensors, speed-dependent automatic door locking and engine immobilizer. The new Tigor variants are specially developed for driving on smooth city roads as it features anti-stall and crawls functions.
