Tata Motors and JLR total global sales down by 9%

Tata Motors sales figures in the month of February 2019 shows a decrease in the total sales. This figure also includes JLR sales. Tata established the British company as a wholly owned subsidiary back in 2008. The total sales figure now stands at 110,262 nos., lower by 9%, as compared to February 2018.

Out of this, sales from JLR stands at 49,695 units. Jaguar wholesales for the month were 14,926 vehicles, while Land Rover wholesales for the month were 34,769 vehicles. The sales figure of JLR also includes that of CJLR. CJLR is a joint venture between JLR and Chery Automobiles and is an unconsolidated subsidiary for JLR

Coming to Tata Motors sales, they sold 67,964 units of passenger vehicles in the month of February 2019. This is also lower by 9% compared to the same month the previous year. The global wholesales of all Tata Motors’ Commercial vehicles were at 84,512 units. This also includes the Tata Daewoo range. And once again, this number is lower by 9% compared to 2018.

In comparison, Tata Motors’ domestic sales for the month of February 2019 saw a dip of 3%. They sold 57,221 units as against 58,993 units in 2018. However, the cumulative sales for the domestic market (April 2018 – February 2019) grew by 18% with 610,108 units as compared to 517,198 units over the same period last year.

Tata may hope to make up the sales in the coming months with the launch of exciting new cars like the Altroz, Buzzard and the H2X concept.
