EV Orders: Tata Motors has earlier planned to supply it’s first ever Electric Vehicle, Tata Tigor. Now, the company has taken a step forward to partner with private companies on electric vehicles. On Wednesday, Tata Motors delivered 10 Tigor EVs to a well-known expert services company, Cognizant in Hyderabad. The main motive for this movement is the attempts of a pollution-free environment. Tata Motors has joined with Volercars, a leading mobility solutions group that will be presenting the integrated result with the value-added service to Cognizant comprising on ground operations as well as fleet management.
According to President –Electric Mobility Business and Corporate Strategy, Tata Motors, Shailesh Chandra, “We at Tata Motors, are extremely committed to the Government’s vision of e-mobility in India. We are excited to be associating with Cognizant to provide them with a comprehensive solution towards the goal of a sustainable future, with our ‘One Tata’ approach, involving our other group companies. We will continue to strengthen our portfolio of EV offerings across our passenger and commercial vehicles, to meet future requirements.”
As said by some members, the contract is big and the company has now managed to deliver the first of various quantities to be provided to Cognizant, which is assumed to be 200 units costing about Rs 18- 22 crore. To leverage the ‘One Tata solution’ for electric vehicles, the company has planned to associate with additional Tata Group firms in order to implement a combined solution for the means, the establishment of charging points, sustaining assistance and monetary aid for acquisition and operation of the Tigor EVs.
According to the contract, Tata Power will implement and establish two fast-charging stations at the Hyderabad campus of Cognizant, on the other hand, Tata Motors Finance will present the commercial support which is required to obtain the EVs. Previous reports state that Tata Power has earlier inaugurated public EV charging stations in Mumbai. Now, they are heading for diverting the mind of shopper from using fossil fuel for a pollution-free environment. So, very soon, Hyderabad will become the second town to get the Tata EV charging spots.

Praveer Sinha, CEO & Managing Director, Tata Power claimed, “With the deployment of the fast charging EV stations in Hyderabad we are happy to make the city more conducive towards a pollution free environment. This is in line with our endeavor to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles across the country by providing the much-needed mobility infrastructure to support EV growth.”
The report also added that from EV orders, Tata Motors has already taken a major step in the campaign of promoting e-mobility to foster and sustain the expansion of the essential habitat wanted for green mobility solutions. The company is committed to running in a collaborative way along with every said professional to promote speedier selection of EV’s and to develop a sustainable eventuality for the country.
