Tata H5X was first showcased in the 2018 Auto expo and has gained much attention due to its immense upmarket design. The Tata H5X is now been tested across India including the Ooty hills in the southern and the Leh ladakh in the northern part of India. The Automotive industry has been now very keen to the launch of the Tata H5X and now the rumor name is out to be Harrier. Yes, Tata H5X is expected to be named as Tata Harrier.
Tata Harrier aka H5X was spotted in leh-Manali Highway near Pangong lake in Leh. The SUV was spotted while high altitude testing and guess what not one but two H5X was spotted. While the one was with a 18 inch steel rim wheel and the other with a 18 inch alloy wheel instead of the 22 inch wheel showcased in the auto expo. The SUV is expected to be launched in April 2019 although considering the speedy development and testing the SUV can be expected to be launched in next 3-4 months.
The design has been kept very close to what we have seen in the concept car. Although, Tata motors had earlier confirmed that the production version would retain 80 percent of the design cues from the concept vehicles as we had seen the same to happen with the Tata Nexon which had very identical design of the Nexon concept vehicle. The vehicle spotted testing seems to be a seven seater setup considering the long wheel base. Tata earlier has also confirmed that H5X would have two seating variants with five and seven seating option.
The SUV spied earlier, gets an all-black interior compared to what the concept carried a wooden finish dashboard. Though it is still under speculation if the SUV would get more upmarket interior design. The SUV is expected to be powered with 2.0-liter Multijet II diesel engine of the exclusive Fiat motor. Incidentally, the Jeep Compass launched in July last year is also powered with the same engine.
The H5X is expected to priced between 12 to 16 lakhs. The SUV would be the flagship offering from the Tata Motors and would sit above the ageing Tata Safari Storme and the recently launched master piece, Tata Hexa. The Tata Harrier once launched, would rival against the best-selling Hyundai Creta, Mahindra XUV 500 and the Jeep Compass.
