Tata Motors showcased the all-new Tata Harrier at the Auto Expo 2018, where the company also announced that the model will be soon released globally. Recently, the reveal dates have been leaked which states that the all-new Tata Harrier SUV will make its appearance at the Mumbai Marathon, 20 January, next year. Hence, the upcoming SUV will be released soon after its debut worldwide. After the launch, it will rival against the popularity of Hyundai Tucson and Jeep Compass in the Indian market.
Tata Harrier or H5X SUV have been spied many times while on the test. However, the car was completely camouflaged on the test in India so, it will be extremely exciting to see the first look of the Harrier. Until July, the name of the model did not reveal, but the company soon declared the spied SUV as Harrier. All new Tata car will be available in a 5-seat arrangement and front-wheel knocked for standard versions. It is also reported that the top-spec variant can come with an all-wheel-drive choice.
The all-new Harrier is developed in a latest OMEGA (Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced) monocoque design, exclusively produced by Tata Motors and Jaguar Land Rover. The vehicle will be integrated with more innovative features compared to the existing range as it features IMPACT Design 2.0 style. From the front, the car boasts modern LED headlights with DRLs and V-shaped grille. It sits on alloy wheels and features rear spoiler and slender LED taillight cluster.
Tata Harrier will feature an amazing cabin with some top-level elements including dual-tone upholstery, floating touchscreen infotainment system, 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel with an instrument cluster, and an analog speedometer. The SUV will be powered by a super-powerful 2 liter Multijet turbocharged diesel motor based on Fiat, which generates 140 Bhp power and 320 Nm peak torque. The engine will be combined with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. There will be a Hyundai-based 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox on option.
The Harrier SUV will be launched in 5-seater as well as 7 seater arrangement which will be released after the standard version. The price of the 7 seater version will be higher than the 5-seater. Although, Tata Motors will mark the prices higher compared to its competitors. The standard version of the Tata Harrier is assumed to be priced Rs 17 Lakh (Ex. Showroom) which raises to Rs 21 Lakhs for the top-specs variant.
