Tata Motors has increased the price tags of its popular models including Harrier in the Indian market. The automotive makers have planned to hike the prices of their best-selling models with the start of the new year. In December 2019, the company has offered Harrier at a remarkable discount of almost Rs 1.75 lakh. So, you are lucky if you already purchased the SUV last month.
Harrier is the best selling SUV for the company. Compared to previous prices, it has been raised about Rs 35,000 to Rs 45,000 for all the variants. The company has also included a Dark Edition. Launched back in January 2019, the company got an amazing response for the SUV in the country. Although, the carmaker noticed drastic sales drop after the launch of MG Hector and Kia Seltos.

Till now, Tata Motors has delivered about 15,000 units of the Harrier. In mid-2019, the SUV reported constant sales. From July to December only 5,208 units were delivered from the company’s showroom. The Harrier will also get BS6 update which is likely after 2020 Auto Expo. Hence, the prices will be increased once again after the updated version hit the market.
Other Tata models also noticed a significant price hike including Hexa, Safari Storme, Zest, Bolt and Nano. However, the production of these models will soon stop officially as these variants don’t satisfy standards of the upcoming emission norms. Nexon prices are increased by up to Rs 15,000 to Rs 30,000 while Tata Tiago prices are hiked about Rs 9,000 to Rs 20,000. Tata Hexa is available at Rs 44,000 more.
Tata Harrier is a stylish SUV which is known its off-roading capabilities. The vehicle is developed in the Land Rover based Omega Arc platform. In terms of dimension, it is 4598 mm in length, 1894 mm in width and 1706 mm in height. The wheelbase and ground clearance is 2741 mm and 205 mm, respectively.
The SUV is powered by a BS4-compliant 2.0-litre diesel motor which is capable of making 140PS of max power and 350Nm of peak torque, combined with a 6-speed manual transmission. The updated version is likely to come with a BS6 compliant 170PS 2.0-litre diesel unit. Before that, the company is gearing up for the launch of seven-seat Gravitas SUV which will be showcased at the Auto Expo 2020.
