Tata has been teasing the upcoming Harrier SUV to raise the excitement among the enthusiasts. We already know that the SUV will feature Kryotec Engine which will enhance the performance and fuel efficiency of the powerful vehicle. Tata Harrier is scheduled to be introduced in India by early 2019. The company has already commenced the official bookings for the SUV. In the latest video, Tata has driven the vehicle on the NATRAX test track, Indore.
If you are not an automotive follower, you must know that NATRAX (National Automotive Test Tracks) is Asia’s largest testing department concentrated for vehicles dynamics. The latest video informs the viewers about the different tests which the upcoming Harrier has gone through. It gives us a glimpse of the dynamics offered in the new SUV. The video shows that the SUV has experienced ‘Double Lane Change Test’ and ‘Fish Hook Test’. Although, in the previous video, the company has already tested the dynamics of the powerful vehicle.
The SUV got a positive result in the test. It offers good road grip which is safe for driving off-road. The previous video has also indicated the off-roading capabilities of the Harrier. In the recent test, it doesn’t roll over throughout the track tests. The vehicle is good for any road condition. Earlier, the vehicle was also found on the Kari Motor Speedway which claims the high-speed cornering stability and effective suspension and steering arrangement.
Tata has developed the new SUV with an IMPACT Design 2.0 concept. The Harrier is spied with high-end larger 18-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels shod. It is built on the OMEGA platform based on the Land-Rover architecture. It can also come with steering gear, floor plan and suspension from the Land Rovers field which will improve the driving dynamics. It will be introduced in a five-seater arrangement.
Under the hood, the Tata Harrier will get a 2.0L KRYOTEC, four-cylinder diesel engine generating 140bhp power. The engine is BSVI emission compliant to meet the upcoming vehicle norm. The engine will be combined with a 6-speed manual transmission. It will also get a Hyundai-based 6-speed automatic gearbox. It will be available in 2WD and 4WD drivetrain options. It could be priced between Rs 16 lakh-Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom). The vehicle will rival against the likes of Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson.
