Tata Motors is all set to launch the all-new Harrier SUV in early next year. The company has already revealed the SUV for the Indian market. The bookings have already commenced the previous month and the receiving great customer response. We already know the exterior details of the car and now the features of the premium cabin has surfaced online. Tata Harrier will be the next top-specs SUV of the company which has got many high-level features and mechanical elements to improve the performance as well as efficiency.
Tata Harrier will be introduced with a new larger 8.8-inch infotainment display exclusively from Visteon. Now, you must be thinking that what’s new in this as this feature was earlier stated in the previous news. Although, the previous reports were just rumour and now its confirmed. Visteon is known for producing automotive parts like infotainment systems, multi-info displays and digital instrument clusters to the well-known automotive makers.
Visteon’s infotainment screens can be seen on premium cars including Mazda CX-9 SUV, Ford trucks and Tata Motor’s JLR. They have also produced the digital instrument cluster in the most top-specs car Range Rover Velar SUV. Visteon infotainment displays are feature-packed. It supports a wide range of features like MirrorLink, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, satellite navigation and reverse camera display.
So, the company is no more using the old Harman infotainment system in its SUV’s. Although, the Harman audio system is still equipped in the cabin for the better sound feature. Overall, the cabin will be more premium and superior with comfortable seating and stylish decoration. The similar sound system was also seen on some high-range models of the company like Tiago, Nexon and the Tigor. The top-spec model can also come with sub-woofer as well.
Inside the interior, the SUV will also get a smartphone holder and a cooled cabinet below the armrest. To ease the driving experience of the drivers, the car will come with Terrain Response System highlighting Normal, Wet and Rough modes to drive in all road conditions. For now, the company has planned to introduce a five-seater variant of the car. However, a top-specs seven seater arrangement is also expected to be launched after the mid-specs variant.
The upcoming Harrier will be powered by a 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine based on Jeep Compass are deliver up to 140 Bhp power. The engine will be combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission by Hyundai. It is expected to be available between Rs 16-21 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival against the popularity of Mahindra XUV 500 and the Hyundai Creta.
