The SUV looks a class ahead with being built on the land rover discovery platform L 550. The Harrier SUV will make it’s official debut in early 2019. The Harrier has been tested across terrains including test tracks for driving dynamics. The 5 seater monocoque SUV is engineered on the new generation ‘Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced’ Architecture , which is derived from the legendary Land Rover D8 architecture and developed in collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover. The SUV has stunned the automobile industry with its design and development. Bookings have been already commenced officially at a price of Rs 30,000.
Recently, the prices of the SUV has been disclosed online. The price of the SUV which has surfaced for the first time. According to the company’s tweet, the upcoming Harrier will be priced at Rs 16 lakh and Rs 21 lakh. The on-road cost for the standard variant is confirmed to be introduced at 16 lakh and the top-specs variant will be priced at Rs 21 lakh. Excluding the insurance or overhead charges.
The on-road price of the Tata Harrier is expected to be between Rs. 16 lakhs (base model) to Rs. 21 lakhs (top-end variant), which will include registration charges, insurance, etc. (2/3)

Tata Harrier being a newly designed vehicle, Tata Motors has built a completely new world class assembly line for the SUV within a span of 6 months for best manufacturing practices adopted from Jaguar and Land Rover. Tata Motors has developed the new plant with 90% of automation to the assembly process for efficient, accurate and optimized build quality.
Harrier is powered by a compelling Kryotec 2.0L, 4-cylinder engine producing 140HP of peak power which is based on Fiat, that produces 40 Nm of torque. The company will release the vehicle as a five-seater variant, although a seven-seat variant of Harrier is also expected to launch in future. The top-spec variant will draw power from a 170HP engine unit. The engine is combined with a six-speed manual or a six-speed on an option based on Hyundai’s torque converter automatic transmission.
According to Mr. Mayank Pareek, President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors -“We have been receiving a tremendous response from the customers ever since we opened bookings of the Harrier, a fortnight ago. With the all- new assembly line ready and the roll out of the 1st Harrier, we are now gearing up to start deliveries in early 2019. The Harrier, with its stunning design will definitely appeal to customers, especially those who have eagerly waited for the product since its showcase as the H5X concept at the Auto Expo 2018. We are confident that the Harrier will set new benchmarks in the SUV segment, in 2019.”
