Tata Motors has showcased the long awaited seven – seater Harrier based SUV, named as the Tata Buzzard today at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The SUV was codenamed as the H7X and will be Tata Motors’ new flagship model in the country. The Buzzard will be positioned above Harrier and the 2019 Hexa in the company’s line up. Besides the new seven – seater H7X, Tata has unveiled a number of models at the Geneva Auto Show which comprises of the Tata Altroz premium hatchback [previously named as the 45X] and the Tata 45X Altroz electric concept.

The Tata Buzzard will be based on the OMEGA platform, which is inspired from the D8 Architecture of the Land Rover Freelancer and Discovery Sport. The all new SUV is likely to priced around Rs 15 lakhs. The seven – seater Buzard will compete on the likes of the Mahindra XUV500, the Toyota Innova Crysta and the Honda CR-V.

The all new Buzzard is based on Impact 2.0 design. On the exterior, the SUV features roof rails, an upright tailgate and larger rear quarter glass. The SUV rolls on 18 inch wheels. In terms of dimension the Buzzard SUV measures 62 mm longer than the Tata harrier SUV.The interior of the SUV is quite spacious and gets foldable seats in second and third row. The roofline is sloping towards the rear to provide better headroom to the passengers. There are several driver – comfort features offered on the SUV as well. The cabin comes with features like 8.8 inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay ass well as Mirror Link, a 7.1 inch color screen on instrument cluster for MID, separate charging points and rear ac vents.

Tata Motors has equipped the SUV with standard safety features like the ABS with EBD, traction control, airbags, hill hold assist, brake assist and rear parking camera with sensors.Under the bonnet, the Tata Buzzard comes with the same engine as seen on the Tata harrier SUV, however the output figures will be altered. The 2.0 litre kryotec diesel engine is tuned to make a power of 170 bhp on the Buzzard. The engine comes coupled with a six speed manual gearbox and a Hyundai sourced six – speed automatic torque converter.
