Tata Altroz unveiled officially. The Altroz premium hatchback that was showcased as a concept will be launched in India in January 2020, ahead of the Indian Auto Expo. Also, bookings for the Tata Altroz are open starting today, for a token amount of ₹21,000.
First showcased as a concept and then sighted multiple times testing, the Altroz is Tata’s lineup for the premium hatchback segment consisting of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, and Honda Jazz amongst others.
Visually, the Altroz looks striking and closely resembles the concept Tata Motors had originally showcased. The Front-end of the ALtroz gets a honeycomb grille that connects both the large, headlights, while the foglamps take the position below with integrated headlights. The Altroz sports sharp and pronounced lines to give the car a sporty look. The rear door handles hidden in the pillar sections gives the car a sleek finish.
In terms of power, the Tata Altroz will come with BS-VI compliant petrol and diesel engines. The 1.2-litre petrol motor is good for 84 bhp and 114 Nm of torque, while the 1.5-litre turbo diesel motor makes an impressive 89 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. When launched, both variants of the Tata Altroz will get a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.
Now stepping inside, the Tata Altroz unveiled gets a 7-inch floating infotainment system while the dash is finished in black and grey. The infotainment system is connected to a 6-speaker Harman sound system and features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include ambient lighting, a colour MID unit, cruise control, auto wipers and headlight, steering-mounted audio controls, and more.
On the safety front, the Tata Altroz will include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and camera, speed alert system, driver and passenger seatbelt waring, and more.
