The production version of the upcoming Tata Altroz has been spotted in the country ahead of its launch. The car was spied at the company’s plant in Pune without Camouflage. The spy images show that the production version of the car is little bit different from the model [near production form] which was showcased earlier at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. However, the concept form of Altroz named as Tata H5X hatchback was unveiled back at the 2018 Auto Show. The car is scheduled to be launched in the mid of this year as the festive season in the country commences.
The upcoming Tata Altroz is built based on the company’s ALFA platform. Tata Motors will use the ALFA platform to manufacture cars in future. The Altroz will the first product of the brand in the premium hatchback segment. On the exterior, the premium hatchback gets monotone finished wheels while the diamond cut look is missing that was seen on the near production version showcased at the Geneva Motor Show. Besides that the production spec is likely to feature 16 inch rims contrary to the 17 inch in the show car.
Following the automaker’s tradition, the interiors of the premium hatchback will be spacious. The cabin is likely to be contemporary and a high level of fit and finish along with premium touches. A number of driver and passenger comfort features will also be offered on the hatchback including the touchscreen infotainment system as well as a dashboard.
Under the bonnet, the Tata Altroz will get both petrol and diesel powering options. The 1.2 litre three cylinder turbo petrol engine churns out a power of 110 bhp and produces a peak torque of 150 Nm. On the other hand the 1.5 litre four cylinder motor, inspired from the Tata Nexon Compact SUV delivers a power of 110 bhp and produces a peak torque of 250 Nm. Both the engines will come mated to six speed manual transmission as standard. Once launched, the Altroz premium hatchback will lock horns with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the Honda Jazz and the Hyundai Elite i20.
