While the hype of Harrier seems to settle down with decent sales numbers. Tata is already preparing for the next big launch. No prices for guessing that we are talking about the Tata Altroz. The car which wants to take the fight with the premium hatchback segment. We have seen a lot of interior as well as exterior spy pics for the Altroz, today we have an official video from Tata.

The first thing that the video clears is that the Altroz is not gonna make it in 2019. Yes, the video title tells us that the Altroz is arriving in January 2020 and not this year. Yesterday Tata released an official video showing the side profile of the Altroz, while in today’s video we have the top view as well as a timeline for the launch.

Tata’s new offering comes with a fresh dose of design. The colour showed in the video is a gold colour with black contrast roof, we can also spot a Blue colour car in the video. Based on modular ALFA platform, it looks very sleek and has a fluid design. Wraparound headlamps and tail lamps along with black trim on tailgate give it a different look.

On the inside, it will cabin-inspired from the Tata Harrier. Floating type touchscreen unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Instrument cluster will get the analogue digital combination. The engine options are not yet known but it is expected to come with three engine options. Starting from the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol motor which makes 85hp, and 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol from the Nexon which makes 102bhp, and a 1.5 cylinder diesel motor. Automatic transmission will also be on offer. All the engines will be now BS-VI compliant.

When launched next year the Altroz will compete with Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz and even the Toyota Glanza. The pricing here can be the card that Tata can play and cut the competition, it can be a successful product.
