Tata Motors has big plans for the Geneva Motor Show 2019. Along with H7X concept, Hornbill concept and the Altroz, the car maker will also unwrap an electric vehicle which will be based on Altroz. These all-new four models of Tata Motors will set a new level of competition in the automotive world. The Altroz will be placed in the premium hatchback segment which was earlier recognized as 45X.
The company took social media to confirm the debut of its electric car in the upcoming event. The Tata Motor’s post revealed only the headlamp and the EV badge on the car although, before the official introduction, the spy shot of the EV has surfaced online. The latest spy image reveals the complete exterior of the car which looks much fascinating.
The spy image reveals only the exterior of the car and the interior was completely hidden. The EV version will get most of the outer design from the standard variant. It will be equipped with large wheels and low-profile rubber. The front of the vehicle will get new headlamps and a bold appearance. The dimension of the EV is somewhat smaller than the standard version which is developed on the company’s ALFA ( Agile Light Flexible Advanced) Architecture platform.
The EV has received larger grille and a bold bumper with fog lamps. On the sides, the electric car gets fine lines and rear door handles installed on the pillar. It is developed with IMPACT 2.0 Design language and comes with a classy matte coating on the roof and ORVM’s. The underpinnings haven’t yet revealed, but the electric Altroz will claim driving range of 220-250 km in a single charge.
The interior can get a freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, semi-digital instrument cluster and T-shaped central console as standard along with electric parking brake. The EV model is expected to be introduced by 2020. Although, the standard petrol and diesel variant of Altroz will soon hit the market later this year. The premium hatch will rival against the likes of Honda Jazz, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20, and Volkswagen Polo.
