The Suzuki Motorcycle Limited manufactured Suzuki V Storm 650 XT which made its debut at the Auto Expo 2018 is reported to be released in India in July. It is a middleweight adventure tourer in the suzuki V strom range which is assembled from (CKD) Completely Knocked Down kits.
The bike runs on a 645 cc 4 stroke, DOHC, 90 degree V-twin, liquid cooled engine. This comes mated with a 6 speed manual gearbox. The special L shaped pistons of the engine is resin coated to decrease friction in the cylinders. The bore is 81 mm and stroke is 62.6 mm. The compression ratio is 11.2:1. The tyre specification of the 650 XT is 110/80 R-19 for the front wheel and the rear tyre is defined by the numbers 150/70-R17. The braking is handled at the front and rear with specifications, tokico twin piston calipers,dual floating of 310 mm disc and nissin single piston caliper with 260 mm disc respectively. The bike comes equipped with ABS.
The front suspension of the bike is handled by telescopic coil springs which are oil damped whereas the rear suspension is handled by a link type coil spring which are oil damped, spring preload adjustable. The bike has an overall length of 2275 mm, a height of 1405 mm and a width of 910 mm. The ground clearance of the bike is 170 mm. The saddle height is 835 mm and the kerb weight is 216 kg. The wheelbase is 1560 mm and the fuel capacity is 20 L. The headlamp is a halogen one but the taillamp and the turn signal lamps are LED. The bike features digital speedometer, odometer and tripmeter and an analogue tachometer. the traction control is also an unique feature of the Suzuki bike.
The bike is expected to launch with a price ranged from Rs. 7.75 to Rs. 8 lakhs in the ex showroom of Suzuki. The rivals of the Suzuki V Strom 650 XT are Kawasaki Versys 650 and Beneli TNT 600 GT. The bike was primarily unveiled at the Intermot 2016. It is believed to have taken cues from the styling of the V Strom 1000. The V-Strom 650 is available in champion yellow no. 2, glass sparkle black and pearl glacier white.
