The most-awaited Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 and the Gixxer SF 150 is finally launched officially. The company has unwrapped another quarter-litre segment bike in the country. The company has received an amazing response from the customers in the Gixxer series. The Indian bike enthusiasts were eagerly waiting for the next Gixxer and its finally here. The company has recently launched the all-new Hero Xtreme 200S, the successor of Hero Karizma.
The Gixxer SF 250 is the second bike of the company in the 250cc series. At the event, the company reported that the sales of 150cc series have increased by 15-18 per cent every year. Suzuki assumes to enhance the scooter and bike sales of its 150cc models to increase by a remarkable 51 per cent in the upcoming FY. The new product has been developed to satisfy the current safety norms as well as a new trend.
Gixxer SF250 is equipped with a double barrel exhaust, based on the earlier Gixxer SF, although it looks somewhat different. The fully-faired sports bike is designed with two-piece handlebar and split seat that gives it a sportier appearance. It is integrated with all-new LED tail lights and LED headlamps. It also receives an LCD instrument cluster. It sits on 17-inches radial tubeless tyres which gives a bold look to the bike from the side section.
The Gixxer SF250 runs on an oil-cooled single cylinder powertrain that makes 26.5PS of power at 9,000rpm and 22.5Nm at 7,000rpm. The engine is combined with a six-speed gearbox transmission. The company claims that the all-new Gixxer SF 250 will claim mileage of 38.5 Km/l. It features dual-channel abs. The new Gixxer SF 250 is announced in two attractive shades- Matte Black and Matte White.
The suspension duties are handled by telescopic, coil spring, oil damped at the front and Swingarm type, mono-suspension at the rear. It comes with disc brake setup at the front and rear. It is 2010mm in length, 740mm in width, and 1035mm in height. It comes with aground clearance and a seat height of 165mm and 800mm, respectively. The Gixxer SF 150 is powered by the same 154.9cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that makes 14.1hp and 14Nm of torque. It features 41mm telescopic fork and monoshock, with disc brakes at the rear and front.
In terms of pricing, the Gixxer SF 250 will be sold at Rs 1,70,655 (ex-showroom, Delhi) while, the Gixxer SF 150 will be offered at Rs 1.08 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike has been launched with a BS-IV compliant engine, and the company will soon release the BS-VI unit in future. The Gixxer SF 250 rival against the likes of Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, Honda CBR 250R, and Yamaha Fazer 25. Suzuki has established 1137 touch points all over the country.
