The Kia SP, concept based SUV, has been spotted for the first time. Well it is the first Kia Motor’s model to be launched in India. The launch will take place around the later half of 2019.
The concept of the SUV was first revealed at the Auto Expo 2018. And now the spy shots confirm that the detailing and the styling do not much differ from the concept. The shoulder line of the SUV is quite strong and is followed by a tapering glasshouse. The front of the car is adorned with a new, slim headlamp and a Tiger Nose shaped grille. There is a fog lamp placed just beneath the headlamp.
The engines and transmissions system of the Kia beauty is to be shared with the Creta, whose side view is pretty much similar to it anyway. The difference is spotted in the rear door which is a little bigger and the noticeable quarterglass behind the C pillar. Upright tailgate with sloping glass, huge horizontal taillamps are the distinct rear features. The tailgate and the frill is decorated with minute bits of chrome, which makes the four wheeler unique. The expected premium interior features are a widescreen infotainment system and ambient lighting, might be having some more.
The new factory in Andhra Pradesh is going to be the mother house for the production of the SP. The manufacturers are planning on investing some billion dollars behind the factory. Looks like the Kia Motors has more plans for India, namely the Hyundai QXi based compact SUV, at the next Auto Expo in 2020, followed by the introduction of the Grand Carnival MPV in the Indian shores. All these plans are going to be successful within the 2020th year.
