First of all for those of you who have no idea about Smart. Smart is a German automotive division of Daimler Ag, based in Germany. It deals in microcars and sells in Asia, America, Africa and Australia. Smart derives from cooperation with Swatch and Mercedes: Swatch Mercedes ART. Their original model Smart ForTwo was a great hit around small cars. Therefore now they’ve come up with their latest offering Smart Forease Speedster.
Seems like now Smart is all ready to celebrate its Twentieth Anniversary with new Smart Forease tiny Speedster at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. Likewise Smart’s new EV take hints from the minimalistic design seen on previous cars such as 2001 Crossblade and the 2011 Forspeed.
Looking at the pictures one can observe how tiny the car actually is. While these small proportions make the Smart look appealing and add a different type of charm to it. Up front, there’s a small windscreen with headlight featuring 3 vertical slotted LEDs. There’s no roof up top, door handle recess in the door. Central air vent features two digital screens.
The metallic white paint shade coupled with “stream green” accents, goes very well with the eco theme. There is green color details on the alloy wheel too. The rear features Square shape led tail lights. Combined with the futuristic steering wheel and a separate tachometer at the left the interior looks good and sporty. The speakers are neatly blended into the rear wall to make it stand apart from the regular Smart.
While with many changes the concept is still based on the regular production Smart EQ ForTwo. Likewise which offers fully electric powertrain. However, Smart is only available in the United States, Canada, and Norway, with Europe to follow in 2020. we can expect Smart to be available to the rest of the world later on.
Finally on Tuesday, October 2 Smart will display Forease Tiny Speedster in Paris Motor Show.
