Royal Enfield is in the process of making its whole range of bikes ABS compliant. The latest bike to get ABS from their stable is Thunderbird 350X. The new Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X is priced at Rs 1.63 lakhs, which is only 7,000 more expensive than the model without ABS.
The bike gets a Dual Channel ABS. Combined with 280mm front disc and 240mm rear disc, the braking of the bike is much safer now. Royal Enfield aims to introduce ABS to all it’s lineup by this year to adhere to the safety norms. Government regulated ABS for all two-wheelers above 125 cc from April 2019. 350cc Classic Signals Edition was the first bike from Royal Enfield to get ABS. After that, the Himalayan and Classic 500 got the update. Thankfully Royal Enfield is offering a proper Dual channel ABS not a single channel unit.
It’s bigger brother Thunderbird 500X is yet to receive ABS, but its scheduled down the line and should be available in a couple of months.
Royal Enfield launched the ThunderbirdX series to freshen up the cruiser appeal for younger customers. Offering bright lively colours paired up with blacked out panels. A new handlebar and more relaxed riding position on offer. Also, the bike was first Royal Enfield to feature tubeless tyres with alloy wheels. 19-inch alloy on the front and rear with an 18-inch alloy.
The engine is the same tried and tested 346cc single cylinder mill. It puts around 19 bhp and a healthy torque of 28Nm and comes mated to a 5-speed transmission. Addition of ABS makes the bike much safer. ThunderbirdX is available in 4 different colour options.
